Meet the Candidates: Volga City Council

Volga voters will choose between nine candidates for five seats on the city council in the Nov. 7 city/school board election. Those elected will serve two-year terms. George B. Duff, Alex Fettkether, Elaine Follon and Crystal Nicholson are seeking re-election. They are joined on the ballot by Helena Davis, Parker Klingman, Thomas Klingman, Darren Nading and Tom Whittle. Five candidates—Follon, P. Klingman, T. Klingman, Nading and Nicholson—recently shared their thoughts about key issues with Times-Register reporter Willis Patenaude. Over $620K in UMGC grants awarded

The Upper Mississippi Gaming Corporation (UMGC) held its 2023 grant awards reception at the Casino Queen Marquette on Oct. 24, announcing the distribution of 35 grants totaling $623,383 to non-profit organizations serving Clayton County.
