MFL MarMac wrestlers already 8-0 in duals

Austin Schaller won all eight of his matches last week, including four falls.

Freshman Jarett Hanson earned his first high school pin in MFL MarMac’s 60-24 dual win over Starmont on Dec. 1.

Holden Mathis was one of six Bulldogs to earn a fall in the dual versus De Soto.

Senior Karter Decker eyes a pin in his 152-pound match against North Crawford/Seneca.

Taylor Herzmann picked up two falls, including this one against Starmont, in the Dec. 1 quadrangular.

Dayne Kohrs battled in, but ultimately lost, a 170-pound match against De Soto.

MFL MarMac football players achieve all-state status

Karter Decker

Four MFL MarMac players are on the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association and Iowa Football Coaches Association 2022 all-state football teams. Senior offensive lineman Hunter Meyer and junior linebacker Kade McElwaine were both selected to the Class 1A first team, while junior Wyatt Powell and senior Karter Decker were respectively named to the second team as a running back and returner.
