Prairie du Chien hosted Mauston for the regional quarterfinal match on Tuesday night. 

With a rowdy crowd of students, parents and fans, (not ready to see the season end) the Blackhawks were on the attack keeping the Golden Eagles on their heels. 

The Blackhawks took set one 25-15, and rode that momentum through the rest of the match, winning set two 25-19 and set three 25-15.

The Prairie du Chien boys soccer team began regional play hosting the Warriors of Ozaukee Tuesday afternoon on the Bluff View Pitch.  

The Hawks started out quick, and with just 3:56 into the contest, Mark Welter fired a powerful and perfect kick for Prairie’s first goal.  

Nineteen minutes later, (22:02) it was Ben Teynor’s turn, ripping through the Warrior defense then pounding it in for Prairie’s second goal.

Tuesday night, Prairie du Chien volleyball honored Breast Cancer Awareness Month as well as Robbie Mason in her fight against cancer. It was also Senior Night.  

With an awesome crowd, the Blackhawks took on the Lancaster Arrows. The Blackhawks started off their very emotional night winning set 1 (25-20) and set 2 (25-13), but the Arrows didn’t give up, winning set 3 (25-23). The Blackhawks didn’t let it go to a 5th set, winning set 4 (25-20).

Pecatonica-Argyle defeated host River Ridge 20-6 on the Timberwolves’ homecoming Friday night. 

The game was played on a wet and slippery field and didn’t start until about 8:30 p.m. due to lightning. 

Cole Crubel got the Timberwolves on the board first as he got to the outside and broke free for a 45-yard touchdown dash down the left sideline in the first quarter. The extra point was blocked but River Ridge had a 6-0 lead.

The Prairie du Chien Blackhawks traveled to Lancaster on Friday night, looking to spoil the Arrows’ homecoming and improve to 4-0 in conference play. 

The game was a tale of two halves, as the Hawks (7-1, 4-0) jumped out to a big lead early to take a 20-point lead into halftime.

The River Ridge volleyball team defeated visiting Shullsburg in three sets with scores of 25-10, 25-15 and 25-14 Tuesday night in Six Rivers West action.

This allowed River Ridge to at least have a share of the title for the Six Rivers West Conference because they only have one more match with Benton on Oct. 11 and River Ridge defeated Benton earlier in the season.

Seneca/Wauzeka-Steuben easily defeated visiting Kickapoo-La Farge 47-22 on homecoming Friday night in Wauzeka.

Jared Payne scored on a 10-yard run and the PAT was good as SWS took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. Gavin Ralph caught a 2-yard TD from Payne and the PAT was good as SWS took a 14-0 advantage. Payne ran it in from 8 yards out and the extra point was good as the Blue-Golds went up 21-0. Quinn Alexander scored on a 1-yard run and the 2-point conversion was good to pull Kickapoo within 21-8 after the first period.

The Prairie du Chien Blackhawks rounded up their Homecoming Week festivities by hosting the Platteville Hillmen on Friday night. The cool, crisp night provided a great atmosphere for the Hawks’ student section to sport their camouflage attire and cheer on their Blackhawks (6-1, 3-0).

The Lady Hawk golf team played their hearts out at the regional golf match on Wednesday at Prairie du Chien Country Club but missed going on to sectionals as a team by three strokes, carding a team score of 462.
