Seneca defeats North Crawford

The Seneca High School softball team easily handled visiting North Crawford 9-2 in a Ridge and Valley contest Monday afternoon.

The Royals improved to 8-2 on the season and 7-0 in conference action.

The Blackhawk boys golf team opened up their SWC season on Tuesday, April 19 at the Lancaster Country Club. The match started with sunshine and warm weather for once but changed as the sun disappeared behind clouds and cooled down to 45 degrees.

Prairie du Chien, Seneca, Wauzeka-Steuben and River Ridge competed in the North Crawford Track Meet Monday afternoon.

Prairie du Chien won the girls meet with 202 points. River Ridge was second with 112. Seneca was ninth with 14 points.

Crubel Honorable Mention WBCA All State

Braden Crubel, a 6-1 junior from River Ridge, has been named to the Division 4 WBCA All State Honorable Mention Boys Basketball Team for the 2021-2022 season.

Crubel averaged 17.0 ppg in leading the Timberwolves to a 12-0 record in the Six Rivers West Conference and a 24-2 overall record this season.

Reichmann named to WBCA All State Team

Maddy Reichmann of Wauzeka-Steuben has been named to the Division 5 WBCA All State Team.

Reichmann, a senior, is an NCAA Division III UW-Platteville commit, and led Wauzeka-Steuben to a regional final and a 21-6 overall record as well as a Ridge and Valley Conference Co-championship with a 13-1 record.

Lily Krahn of Prairie du Chien has been named to the Division 3 WBCA All State Team for the third time in her high school career.

Krahn, a 5-10 senior guard, averaged 20.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 3.2 steals per game for the Lady Blackhawks this season.

Seth Bunders of Wauzeka-Steuben scoops up a shot versus Potosi.

Fifth seeded and visiting Potosi defeated top seeded Wauzeka-Steuben 64-57 in a Division 5 Regional Final Saturday night in boys basketball playoff action.

The Chieftains led 29-22 at halftime following a steal and lay-up just before the half.
