Three Seneca baseball players named to All Conference Team

Three members of the Seneca baseball team earned All Conference recognition in the Ridge and Valley Conference for the 2015 season.

Junior Brady Fernette was named to the First Team.

Senior Eric Konichek was named to the First Team.

Sophomore Gavin Greene was named to the First Team.

American Legion Fish Fry Feast honors area veterans

The Prairie du Chien Post 68 Junior American Legion Team won 13-3 in 5 innings over visiting Platteville on Thursday evening, July 2. Jon Dyer and Jacob Mallat combined for the win. 

Dyer also went 2x3 with an RBI. Drake Coleman was 2x3 with a double.

The new inductees to the Eastman Fast Pitch Hall of Fame and the newly named Friends of Eastman Baseball Park will be officially announced and honored during the Fourth of July celebration at Eastman Baseball Park at 4 p.m.

 

The 2015 honorees include Andy Meiller, Frank Harvat, Scott Feye, Cal Kramer, The Borgen family, and Brad Bay.

These grannies are on fire


Fireflies took third in Pool C granny basketball, defeating Honey Bees, 50-43 and the Firecrackers, 46-36 to take first place in the pool. They entered a single elimination tournament and defeated the Model T, 49-39, lost to the Hot Pinks, 36-40 and played the Late Bloomer for third place winning 36-35. Get your tennis shoes and athletic gear out and start thinking about the 45th annual Run/Walk on July 18 at 8 a.m. 

 

Registration is available at the Prairie du Chien City Hall and online. The deadline to register  and receive a t-shirt is July 9, otherwise, participants may register at 7:30 a.m. the day of the event.

Five receive all-conference honors for Prairie du Chien softball


Five Prairie du Chien softball players earned all-conference for the 2015 season. Pictured from left are Jacqueline LaHaie (1st team all-conference outfield along with the team most improved award), Kelsey Achenbach (1st team all-conference infield along with the team MVP award. Achenbach also received 1st team all-district, being the first softball player ever from Prairie to do so), Laura DuCharme (honorable mention all-conference infield), Lauren Nicholson (1st team all-conference pitcher) and Kelly Check (1st team all-conference infield along with the team most improved award).
