Seneca boys top Wauzeka-Steuben

Seneca tops Wauzeka-Steuben

Eric Konichek went 4x4 at the plate, helping the Indians to a 7-2 victory over Wauzeka-Steuben on Monday.

He tripled in the second inning and singled in the first, fourth, and sixth innings.

Gavin Greene kept contact to a minimum, striking out 11 Wauzeka-Steuben batters. Greene allowed two earned runs on five hits and five walks over seven innings.

Prairie du Chien blanked visiting Platteville 10-0 in five innings on a drizzly afternoon Thursday in an SWC baseball game under a threatening sky and occasional thunder. 

The Blackhawks scored 3 runs in the bottom of the first inning, 3 in the second and 4 in the fifth en route to the victory.

PdC Half Marathon


Three competitors run along South Beaumont Road in the Prairie du Chien Half Marathon Saturday morning. The event also included a 5K run/walk. All of the participants, sponsors, and volunteers are greatly appreciated by race organizers. Overall half marathon winners were Steve Slade, of Appleton, 1:24.28; and Amber Uhlenhake, of Spring Valley, 1:31.29. Prairie du Chien lost to visiting River Valley 9-1 in nine innings in an SWC softball game Friday afternoon. 

River Valley got on the board first with a run in the top of the fourth inning to go ahead 1-0. 

Prairie tied the pitcher’s duel with a run in the bottom of the sixth.

De Soto took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. 

Jeremy Lessard then belted a 2-run homer to left in the bottom of the fourth to give Wauzeka-Steuben a 2-1 lead.

CRR girls win

Cassville-River Ridge, Pecatonica, Southwestern and Seneca competed in the Cassville-River Ridge Softball Tournament on Saturday in Bloomington.

In Round 1, Cassville-River Ridge defeated Pecatonica 14-9. 

CRR led 8-2 following one complete inning and 11-2 after two innings.

River Ridge hosted the River Ridge Quadrangular track meet in Bloomington Thursday afternoon. 

MFL MarMac won the boys meet with 157.5 points. River Ridge was second with 145.5. De Soto had 26 and Wauzeka-Steuben had 23. 

Irish of River Ridge won the 100 in 12.28. 

Pages
