Prairie du Chien swept visiting Lancaster three games to none in SWC volleyball action Thursday night.

Prairie won by scores of 25-17, 25-15 and 25-13. 

Prairie du Chien improved to 10-10 overall and 3-4 in conference action. Lancaster fell to 0-5 in the SWC.

Weston scored on a 15-yard pass and a 2-point conversion to take an 8-0 first quarter lead.

Platteville won by scores of 25-14, 25-11 and 25-18.

Prairie du Chien fought hard against a very good Platteville team. There were some good volleys but Platteville’s attack was too much for Prairie to handle. 

Platteville was led by Morgan Stecklein with 9 kills. Jenna Phillips had 5 aces. Claire Tashner had 11 digs.

Potosi defeats River Ridge on a rainy Homecoming

Potosi defeated host River Ridge 38-6 on a rainy Friday night for the Timberwolves’ Homecoming game in Bloomington. 

Neither team scored in the first period, but Potosi got into the end zone on a 6-yard run in the second quarter and the 2-point run was good as the Chieftains went ahead 8-0, which would be the halftime score.

The Prairie du Chien boys soccer team hosted the Richland Center Hornets for Parents’ Night Tuesday evening at the Bluff View pitch.  

The Blackhawks started the game slow and only 2 ½ minutes in, let a Hornet run slip through for an early score and a quick 1-0 deficit.

The Prairie du Chien Blackhawks, behind dominant offensive and defensive lines, routed the visiting Onalaska Luther Knights 55-13 Friday night. The Hawks’ (2-2) defense, spirited by relentless pass-rushing from Gunnar Kravchuk and Adrian Johanningmeier, would hold the Knights (0-4) to 116 total offensive yards for the game, including -39 yards on the ground.
