“Not everyone who lost a life in Vietnam died there...” this could be said for John Stephen Sautter of Lansing, Iowa. John passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, September 8, 2025 at the age of 77. Proud parents, Violet Marie (Gohde) and Fred Martin Sautter, welcomed John into their life on May 10, 1948 in Iowa City, Iowa.

Elizabeth Ann (Mezera) Scheckel, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on Aug. 21, 2025 at Creamery Creek Assisted Living in Viroqua, WI. Born on March 18, 1932, in Bridgeport Township, Wisconsin, Elizabeth was the daughter of Charles and Lucy Mezera. Her father shoveled two feet of snow for the doctor to get to their house for the birth.
