Sabrina C. Langmeier

 

Sabrina C. Langmeier, 58, of Patch Grove, went to Heaven on Sunday, June 21, at home surrounded by her loving family. 

Sabrina was born June 15, 1957, in Mesa, Ariz. to Casimiro “Cas” and Dorothy (Christ) Hurtado. On April 4, 1981, she married James G. Langmeier at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. As a loving wife to Jim and beloved mother of three sons, Joseph, Michael, and Keith, family was her heart and joy. Farming with her family brought her much happiness. Sabrina was a patient and kind friend to all. A woman of strong faith, Sabrina was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed watching the Milwaukee Brewers and a good fish on the end of her line.

Father William “Bill” S.J. Sullivan

 

Father William “Bill” S.J. Sullivan, 84, left to be with our Lord on June 16, 2015.

Father Bill was born Dec. 20, 1930 to Arlie and Bessie Sullivan. He graduated from Campion High School in Prairie du Chien, and was later named the first recipient of an annual distinguished Alumni award.

Fay Grim

 

Fay Grim, 89, of Prairie du Chien, passed away on June 9, at Sylvia’s Hospice House in Ocala, Fla. 

He was born on Oct. 31, 1925 in Crawford County, the son of Ross and Fern (Barney) Grim. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He married Avis Randall on Feb. 17, 1945 in Readstown. She preceded him in death in 1991. He later married Clara Burke in 1996, who preceded him in death in 2012. Fay was owner and operator for many years of Kickapoo Antennavision Inc.- one of the very first cable TV companies. He was an avid annual deer hunter and enjoyed dabbling in electronics.

Carol A. Ore, 77, of Prairie du Chien passed away Friday, June 12, at the Great River Care Center in McGregor, Iowa. 

She was born July 19, 1937 in Prairie du Chien the daughter of Joseph and Emma (Fluke) Sebastian. She married Ronald Ore on Jan. 2, 1961 at St. Gabriel’s Church in Prairie du Chien. She worked in nursing for the General Hospital, the Memorial Hospital and later for the Prairie Convalescent Center.

Laurie A. Bowar

 

Laurie A. Bowar, 61, of Prairie du Chien and formerly of Freeport passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 8, at her home. 

She was born Nov. 16, 1953 in Freeport the daughter of Wallace and Anne (Brody) Floe. Laurie worked as a waitress for many years and later in retail sales. She worked as an office manager and administrative assistant in the wholesale distribution business. She married Jeffrey Bowar on June 11, 1993. Laurie’s greatest joy was spending time with family especially her grandchildren.

Steven Francis Kozelka

 

Steven Francis Kozelka passed away Saturday, June 6, at the age of 37.

Steve, son of Frank Kozelka, was born on July 6, 1977, in Prairie du Chien, where he was raised and received his early education. Following graduation, he worked for Waste Management and then Miller Beer Company as a driver, both in Prairie du Chien. He started working for Peebles and was transferred to Spencer as a manager. Steve worked at Whittenburg Distributing which then became Doll Distributing. In January 2013, he started working for AG Partners.

Grant E. Ness

 

Grant E. Ness, 97, of Prairie du Chien and formerly of LaCrescent passed away Tuesday, June 2. 

Funeral services will be Friday, June 5, at 11 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in LaCrescent, Minn. with burial in the Oakland Cemetery in Dresbach, Minn. Friends may call at the church on Friday, June 5, from 10 a.m. until the time of services. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.

Mary Lee (Halverson) Wachter

 

Former Wisconsin resident Mary Lee (Halverson) Wachter, born July 19, 1929, died peacefully in Tucson, Arizona, on May 14, 2015. Mary was born in Waterman, Ill., but quickly became a true Wisconsin native—raised in Bridgeport and Prairie du Chien. In 1949 she married Edgar “Buddo” Fernette in Prairie du Chien but was soon widowed in 1951. Five years later, she married Charles “Chan” Wachter who became her lifelong partner and loving father to their family. The Wachters moved to Janesville to raise the family where Chan worked for General Motors for 25 years.

Joseph F. Ingle

 

Joseph F. Ingle, 83, of Waverly, Iowa, formerly of Wauzeka, died Saturday, May 30, at Shell Rock Healthcare Center in Shell Rock, Iowa.

Joseph was born on May 8, 1932, in Wauzeka, the son of Juanita Evelyn (Weniger) and Mark Matthew Ingle. In 1952, Joe entered the United States Army, were he served during the Korean War, until his honorable discharge in 1954.
