Theresa M. Morel

 

Theresa M. Morel, 82, of Muscoda passed away on Thursday, Feb. 18, at St. Mary’s Hospital. 

She was born in Prairie du Chien to Edward and Ludmilla (Balk) Fritsche. Theresa married Charles Morel in Prairie du Chien. They shared 63 wonderful years together. Theresa was a talented seamstress and worked for the Progressive for many years. Her cookies and baked goods were loved by many.

Evelyn Marie (Welsh) Knoble

 

Evelyn Marie (Welsh) Knoble, 96, of Boscobel, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the Boscobel Care and Rehab in Boscobel.

She was born on May 11, 1919, in Prairie du Chien, the daughter of Frank and Elsie (Geisler) Welsh. She married Myron Knoble on July 20, 1938 at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien. He preceded her in death on March 27, 2007.

Gertrude (Nee Killinger) Myott

 

Gertrude (Nee Killinger) Myott, entered the fullness of eternal life on Feb. 13, surrounded by her loving family. 

Gertrude was born, one of fourteen children, to Anton and Amelia (nee Eder) Killinger, and raised in Glidden, Wis. After graduating from college, she started her teaching career in a one-room schoolhouse. She taught elementary school for over 30 years; most recently in the West Grant school system.

Charles A. Buttke, 77, of Juda, passed away Saturday, Feb. 13, at his home. 

He was born on Dec. 12, 1938 in Gotham, the son of Floyd and Elizabeth (Hartwig) Buttke. He married Eileen J. Haman on Sept. 20, 1958 in San Diego, Calif.

Dale C. Duha

 

Dale C. Duha, 83, of Eastman passed away on Feb. 13, at the Prairie Maison nursing home. 

He was born on May 2, 1932 the son of Edward and Helen (Zlabek) Duha in Seneca. He graduated from Seneca High School in 1950. Dale served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Japan following WWII. He was proud of his conversion to Catholicism while in Japan. He farmed his entire life near Eastman in Seneca Township. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Council of the Knights of Columbus and his favorite Saint was St. Francis of Assisi.

Mary J. Wilkinson

 

Mary J. Wilkinson, 78, of Prairie du Chien, passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, at her home in Prairie du Chien. 

Mary Janet, the daughter of Edgar and Lazora (Kies) Moore, was born Dec. 6, 1937. Mary was raised on a farm near Mt. Hope, with her parents, her sister, Ardell Dressler, two special uncles, and a special aunt. She attended the Brunson Country School and graduated at thirteen years of age with one classmate. From there she attended Patch Grove High School, graduating in 1954. Mary then graduated from the Milwaukee Business Institute. She worked part time for Attorney Melvin Bonns of Bloomington.

Mr. William Aaron Hazen, 62, of Lobelville, Tenn. passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, at home. 

Mr. Hazen was a support manager for Walmart in Waverly and an avid deer hunter and Green Bay Packers fan.

Catherine A. Quick

 

Catherine A. Quick passed away on Feb. 7, after prolonged illnesses. 

She was born on Jan. 8, 1937 to Carl and Helen (Harris) Stagman in Brodtville, Wis. She grew up in Brodtville and graduated as the valedictorian from Bagley High School in 1955. After high school she worked at a dime store in Dubuque and at the telephone office in Prairie du Chien. In later years she worked for Swiss Colony as order taker and customer service representative for 16 seasons.
