Lyle D. Enabnit

 

Lyle D. Enabnit, 78, of Prairie du Chien passed away Wednesday, Sept. 30, at his home surrounded by his family. 

He was born Sept. 11, 1937 in Marble Rock, Iowa the son of Edward and Doris (Vorhes) Enabnit. He married Patricia Heft on Dec. 29, 1957 and they later divorced. He married Mary Hamilton Rubie in April of 1990 and she preceded him in death on July 25, 2014. Lyle farmed in Rockford and Marble Rock, while also working at J.P. Deckers in Mason City, Iowa. He later worked at Minnesota Rubber in Mason City for 20 years until his retirement.

Dennis D. Oswald, 60, died on Monday afternoon Sept. 28, surrounded by his loving family at his residence in Wauzeka. 

Dennis was born on March 18, 1955 in Prairie du Chien, the son of Duane and Maxine (Lathrop) Oswald. He married Page Havens on Sept. 6, 1975 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Wauzeka.

Robert V. Sawyer

 

Robert V. Sawyer, 87, passed away Sunday, Sept. 27, at St. Therese Care Center in New Hope, Minn. 

He was born Feb. 26, 1928 in Mobile, Ala. the son of Edward and Marie (Peterson) Sawyer. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Kathleen Stoehr on May 8, 1954 in Chicago, Ill. Robert worked as an art director for American Hospital Supply in Waukegan, Ill. for many years until his retirement.

Margaret M. Wachter

 

Margaret M. Wachter, 81, of Prairie du Chien passed away Monday, Sept. 28, at her home surrounded by her family. 

She was born Feb. 28, 1934 in Prairie du Chien the daughter of James and Clara (Berentgen) Powers. She married John Wachter on July 9, 1952 at St. Gabriel’s Church in Prairie du Chien. Together they farmed in rural Prairie du Chien and Margaret also worked at 3M Company for over 26 years until her retirement. She was an active member of St. Gabriel’s Parish.

John R. Dickson

 

John R. Dickson, 59, of Eastman died unexpectedly on Thursday, Sept. 24, at his home. 

He was born April 25, 1956 in Berwyn, Ill. the son of Robert and Beverly (Dade) Meeker. He served in the US Army, stationed in Germany. John worked as a lock operator for the Corps of Engineers at Lock and Dam No. 9 in Lynxville, for the past 30 years. He was an avid pet owner and enjoyed hunting and riding his motorcycle.

Audrey Mae Egli, 82, formally of Ripon, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 19, at her home in Eastman, with her family by her side. 

She was born on Oct. 18, 1932, in Oshkosh, the daughter of Frank and Martha (Reinke) Griedl. Audrey was united in marriage to Walter “Walt” Egli on Oct. 22, 1983 at the United Methodist Church in Princeton with the Rev. Charles Wendt officiating. Walt then preceded her in death on July 5, 2000.

Robert L. “Bob” Williams

 

Robert L. “Bob” Williams, 77, of Machesney Park, was reunited with his wife, Friday, Sept. 18. 

Robert was born Nov. 15, 1937, in Patch Grove, the son of Berdella “Del” and Iris (Garside) Williams. Bob married Diane Zimmerman in 1957. He was employed as a mechanic by Finley GMC in Beloit, for 15 years and recently by Rockford Truck for 12 years, retiring in 2003. He also worked part time for his good friend, Dick Meyers, of Meyers Trucking. Bob loved attending car shows and working on cars.

James Richard Koehn

 

 James Richard Koehn, 82, of Bloomington, formerly of McGregor, Iowa died on Thursday, Sept. 17, at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien. 

James was born on Dec. 11, 1932 to Albert and Hazel Koehn in Clayton, Iowa. James graduated high school from McGregor, Iowa in 1950 and served honorably in the United States Navy. James was united in marriage with Genevive Plank in 1958 at Baraboo. He was employed by the Grant School district as a janitor. James enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors.

Chester L. Barr

 

Chester L. Barr, 76, of Prairie du Chien passed away Friday, Sept. 18, at the Atrium care Center in Lancaster. 

He was born Nov. 29, 1938 in Beetown, the son of Elsworth and Elsie Barr. He married Delores Kramer on Sept. 15, 1962 and they later divorced. Chester grew up on the family farm, working later at Northern Engraving. He worked as a delivery and salesman for Prairie Beer and later became the owner and operator of the Pine Tree Inn in Bridgeport. Chester was active in the tavern league, Wisconsin Badger Camp and the St. Jude Foundation. He served on the Bridgeport Town Board, and loved the Chicago Cubs, the Green Bay Packers, playing pool, John Deere tractors and enjoyed hunting.
