Wilma Ann Blum, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024, at Lancaster Health Services in Lancaster.  She was born on Sept. 8, 1929, in Glen Haven to George and Katherine (Berntgen) Esser. She was the youngest of four children, joining her older brother, Russell Esser, and her sisters, Eunice Petterson and Lavon Scott.

Naomi Beth “Nicky” Penfield, age 93 of Prairie du Chien passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, at Bluff Haven Living Facility in Prairie du Chien.  Nicky was born on June 14, 1931, in Wyalusing Township, the daughter of Kenneth and Imogene “Shorty” (Millin) Harvey. She married Theodore “Ted” Penfield on June 21, 1952, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Prairie du Chien.

David C. Leamy, age 78, and Shirley R. (Adrian) Leamy, age 74, of Bloomington passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at their home surrounded by their children. David was born on December 18, 1945, the son of Eugene “Gene” and Marie (Hermsen) Leamy. Shirley was born on August 16, 1949, the daughter of Francis and Pearl (Donaldson) Adrian.  David and Shirley were married on November 4, 1967, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington, WI. Together they raised four children: Kimberly, Stacy, Sherri, and Daniel.

Mary A. Barrette

Mary A. Barrette, age 81 of Prairie du Chien passed away Thursday, Aug. 29, 2024, at her home. She was born Oct. 28, 1942, to John Henry and Marguerite (Thimmesch) Barrette. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy with the class of 1961. Mary was a long time cook at Kaber’s Supper Club in Prairie du Chien until retirement. She was an active member of Holy Family Parish in Prairie du Chien and sang in the church choir. She is survived by two brothers Joseph and Ralph Barrette.
