Pat Chettinger

After a life on this earth as well-lived as any life could possibly be, Pat Chettinger went to be with Jesus on March 2, 2023, passing away at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City after her second hard-fought bout with cancer. She was 72 years of age when she left us, but it was a very young 72. In fact, she could have easily passed for more than a decade younger than she was and her light was still shining very brightly among us, making her going so soon just that much harder to bear.

Visitation was Tuesday, March 7, at Morris Funeral Home in Guttenberg.

Lydia M. Kann, 93, of Guttenberg, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Guttenberg Care Center in Guttenberg. 

Funeral services were Monday, March 6, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Guttenberg, conducted by Rev. Marvin Bries. Visitation was before services at the church.

Burial was at Kann-St. Michael Cemetery. Pallbearers were Casey Kann, Michelle Volkmann, Naomi Schoniger, Jason Zmuda. Nicholas Adams and Amanda Johnson.

David Edward Judge III, 73, of Elgin, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023, at Aase Hagen Senior Services in Decorah.

A celebration of life is planned for later this year.

Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Elgin assisted the family with services.

There will be a celebration of life held at a later date.

Morris Funeral Home in Guttenberg assisted the family.

Dale was born on June 5, 1943, in Graham, the son of Dennis and Esther (Bolsinger) Welsh.

Elmer J. Henkels, 81, of Guttenberg, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2023, at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital in Guttenberg.

Visitation was Thursday, Feb. 16, at Kramer Funeral Home in Holy Cross and before services at the church.

Funeral services were Friday, Feb. 17, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in North Buena Vista, conducted by Rev. Marvin Bries.

Dayton Walter Miller, 76, of Guttenberg passed away Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, at the Guttenberg Care Center after his fearless fight with cancer. He gave it his all.

Services will be held at a later date.

Dayton was born on June 18, 1946, in McGregor, the son of Walter and Edith (Ferguson) Miller. He married his cherished wife, Susan Handke, in 1969 and they had two children together.

James served three tours in Vietnam with the Marines. James loved woodworking, football, Kit Kats and Ruffles potato chips. James worked at Featherlite and Wilson's Tree Service in Cresco.
