Neal W. Perry

Neal William Perry, 93, of McGregor, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Jan. 11, 2025. Neal was born in Waterloo on Dec. 19, 1931, to parents Helen and Marcus Perry. He grew up in Waterloo and participated in baseball, track and football, graduating from East High in 1950. His fondest childhood memories were visiting his grandparents Neubauer at their farm and great-grandparents in Amana Colonies. Dad was very proud of his heritage. He was an avid hunter and spent many days hunting and fishing with his dad.

Gary L. Carlson, 86, of Elkader, passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, at MercyOne in Elkader. He was born Nov. 27, 1938, in Rockford, Ill., to June Virginia (Quist) Carlson and Axel H. Carlson.

Mary Jane Ferguson, 94, of McGregor, passed away Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025, at the Guttenberg Care Center. Mary Jane was born May 22, 1930 to Damon and June (Ostrander) Rhoades in Delta. She graduated from Springfield High School in Springfield, Mo., and earned her certified nursing degree in Stockton, Mo.
