The former owner of the Wasabi Japanese Restaurant in the town of Bridgeport was killed when he was struck by a vehicle early Monday morning, April 25, in Clarksville, Tenn.
Young Su Kim, 43, of Clarksville, formerly of the Prairie du Chien area, was identified as the pedestrian in the accident, said Officer Natalie Hall of the Clarksville Police Department. He stepped out into traffic and was struck near the intersection of Fort Campbell Boulevard and Eva Drive at 4:49 a.m.
Kim died at the scene, Hall said Tuesday afternoon.
As the Courier Press has reported, Kim was the victim of a severe beating at the restaurant he owned in October 2015. He sustained critical head and brain trauma, along with other injuries, as a result of the incident.
According to sources close to Kim, he had family in Tennessee. His most recent physical and mental state was unknown.
