Jerilyn Smith, 63, of Plymouth, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at home with loved ones by her side. She was born to Donald and Linda Houg on Aug. 26, 1962.

 

Jerilyn grew up in St. Olaf and graduated from the University of Iowa in 1984. She married fellow Hawkeye and the love of her life, Grant, in 1985. They enjoyed four years in Chicago before moving to the western suburbs of Minneapolis, where they welcomed three beautiful children, Chase, Reece and Victoria.

 

After a successful career owning and operating VisionSmith with her husband, Jerilyn enjoyed taking care of her four grandsons, Bennett, Brooks, Boden and Baker. The boys looked forward to their “grandma days” twice a week.

 

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Houg, and grandparents.

 

She is survived by her husband, Grant; her children, Chase (Taylor), Reece and Victoria; her grandchildren, Bennett, Brooks, Boden and Baker; her mother, Linda Houg; and her brother, David Houg.

 

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 28, at Parley Lake Winery in Waconia, Minn. Family and friends are invited to stop by any time between 1 and 4 p.m. to remember and celebrate Jerilyn.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to No Dog Left Behind or the Melanoma Research Alliance.
