Bally’s Marquette held a grand opening for their new landside casino on Friday, March 13, at 7 p.m.

The ceremony included a fireworks display and comments from Bally’s representatives and the Upper Mississippi Gaming Corporation (UMGC) as well as Brittany Hemmer, the mayor of Marquette, Iowa.

“When businesses choose to invest here, it shows confidence in our community, our workforce and the welcoming spirit that defines this town,” Hemmer said before the ribbon was cut on the $26.2 million, 31,280-square-foot gaming and entertainment destination.

The new building is situated at 100 Anti Monopoly Street, just inland from the Casino Queen boat. Bally’s says the facility created nearly 80 new jobs.

“This landmark has been an important part of Clayton County and the surrounding region. Today as we transition from the boat to a landside facility, we are not just unveiling a new building and a new name; we’re strengthening a partnership and investing in a shared future,” said Elizabeth Breitbach, president of the UMGC Board of Directors.

According to a release from Bally’s Marquette, the new facility “debuts four dining and beverage venues,” including a 1994 Sports Bar, Sidecar Bar, Benchfront Coffee and Riverside Grill. It also sports more than 400 slot machines and electronic table games, live blackjack, Ultimate Texas Hold ’Em and a sportsbook.

“For over 30 years, this property has been the pride and joy of the community, and this community has really defined what you see now,” said Jaymin Patel, senior vice chairman of Bally’s Corporation.
