Carolyn Alice Wokosin, age 79, passed away peacefully on Jan. 18, 2026, at home in the township of Utica.
She was born on Dec. 30, 1946, to Glenn and Mildred (Eggleston) Wolcott. She married Daniel L. Wokosin on Sept. 8, 1979, at Utica Lutheran Church.
Carolyn was married to Ronald Sobek Sr. from 1963-1979. She was employed for Seneca District Schools 1968-2018. She held various positions including janitorial, teacher’s aide, food service, High School receptionist, and secretary. In 1974 she became the bookkeeper until retirement in 2018. While working full-time Carolyn attended school and earned three degrees through WWTC. She completed an accounting degree 3/8/92 followed by degrees in Business Administration Personnel and Human Resources-Administration on 5/20/93. Along with her husband, Daniel, she owned and operated a construction business until 2005.
Carolyn enjoyed fishing, hunting, travelling, gardening, perennial flowers, building and living in her own home (dome) and time with family and friends.
She is survived by her spouse, Daniel L. Wokosin, Children Ronald (Kathleen) Sobek, Jr. and Connie Frazier, Sister Rita (Donald) Hoelker, Brothers William (Cookie) Wolcott and Duane (Carol) Wolcott, Grandchildren Jaqueline (Ray) Gill, Kevin (Amanda) WallinSobek, Christine (Collin McBride) Wallin-Sobek and Great Grandchildren Jordan WallinSobek and Skylar McBride.
She is preceded in death by her parents Glenn and Mildred Wolcott, Brothers Robert, Raymond, Jim and Tom Wolcott, Sister-in-laws Jo Ellen and Mary Jo Wolcott, Mother and Father-in-law Elmer and Eleanor Wokosin and Son-in-law Robert Frazier.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to Marjarie Jurgenson, Trish and Dave Swasko, Ben and Courtney Olson, Ann and David Boland, Mike Ostrander, Mark Ziemer, Trudy Johnson, the staff from Hope 4 Cancer and St. Croix Hospice services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Utica Lutheran Church.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 11 a.m. at Utica Lutheran Church on Hwy 27 near Mt. Sterling. Pastor Mark Ziemer will preside over the service. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service, luncheon will follow in the church basement.
