August 17, 1953–January 5, 2026

Bernice Ann Thomas, 72, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI passed away on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026 at Our House Senior Living in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.

She was born on Aug. 17, 1953, the daughter of Joseph R. and Alma “Polly” (Bennett) Thomas. Bernice was a 1971 Beloit Memorial High School graduate. She was a member of the Honor Society. Bernice chose to attend Technical College to become a Heating/Cooling Engineer. She worked for Complete Control till she retired. 

Bernice was a member of the Girl’s Night Out group that would plan to attend events together and try new restaurants. She loved to sew, knit, crochet and read. Gardening didn’t come as easy, but she loved the flowers. 

Her cats were a big part of her life as she had Maine Coon cats. She worked on the family ancestry to put together as much as possible. It’s history after all which was another love. 

Bernice is survived by Susan. J Thomas of Stanely; John B. (Evangeline) Thomas of Spring Valley, Cal.; Theresa M. (Robert) Dale of Crestview, Fla.; Michelle (Charles) Teel of Anchorage, Ala.; James H. (Wendy) Thomas of Janesville and many nieces and nephews. 

Bernice was predeceased by her parents; brother, Joseph P. Thomas; sister, Myra J. Lawson; and niece Cassandra Lawson.
