June 23, 1940–October 10, 2025
Edna M. Forst, age 85 of Prairie du Chien, passed away Friday, Oct. 10, 2025, at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien, surrounded by her family.
She was born on June 23, 1940, to Clair and Mildred (Gagnon) Fleming. Edna married Roger Forst in Sheridan, Maine, on May 2, 1959, and together they raised their four children in Prairie du Chien.
She was mom to more than just her children. She loved each child she babysat just like they were her own. She loved each of her nieces and nephews and was always glad to go to birthday parties, graduation parties, weddings, and baby showers.
She was kind, compassionate, emphatic and nurturing. She had a quick wit and no-nonsense way. She loved to travel and see places on the back of Roger's motorcycle and in their camper.
Edna’s husband Roger preceded her in death on Jan. 4, 2022.
She is survived by her children Christi (Tom) Bowar, Keith (Julie) Forst, Cynthia (James) Wollin and Roger (Connie) Forst; two brothers Darrell (Lydia) and Carroll (Bertha) Fleming; grandchildren Michael and Thomas (Charla) Wollin; step grandchildren Daniel Wachter, Arielle Ross, and Angelle Wachter; five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Joanne Fleming, Madeline Martin, and Vinal Fleming, and sister-in-law Shirley Fleming.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, Oct. 17, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Fr. Brandon Guenther officiating, with burial in the Calvary Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the Garrity Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m., where there will be a rosary at 3:45 p.m.
Friends may also call at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of departure for the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Rivers and Bluff Animal Shelter in Prairie du Chien. www.garrityfuneralhome.com
