The Central School Board continues to hold workshops and meetings to review options for filling the open superintendent position. 

 

At a work session on Aug. 29, the school board was joined by staff members, SIAC members and community members to discuss various approaches. 

 

Attendees shared their perspectives on the strengths and weaknesses of each candidate, emphasizing the importance of transparent communication, identifying a candidate with strong leadership and community engagement skills, and considering timelines and budgets.

 

At a work session on Sept. 2, the board continued discussion with emphasis on questions and answers focused on transparency with staff and the public, increasing visibility within the community and prioritizing what is best for the Central School District.

 

There were closed session meetings held following both work sessions.​ 

 

Closed sessions are held to evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose appointment, hiring, performance or discharge is being considered to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual’s reputation and that individual requests a closed session. Iowa Code 21.5(1)(i).
