Carol Ann Maag, age 77 passed on Thursday May 29, 2025, at Boscobel Care and Rehabilitation. She was born on December 25, 1947, in Boscobel; the daughter of Emil and Avis (Miller) Loether. Carol was united in marriage to Alvin Maag on June 3, 1967, at the Marion Church. 

 From a young age, Carol learned the value of hard work while helping her mother and stepfather on the family’s dairy farm. After graduating from Boscobel High School in 1966, she went to work at Royal Parlor Factory in Boscobel. In her later years, Carol also worked at Surge Store and Napps Motel, all while continuing to work on the farm.

Carol always found joy in maintaining a large, beautiful garden. She had a passion for sewing and crafting and she crocheted many afghans over the years. In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards with family in friends. As lifelong member of the Marion Church, Carol served as church treasurer for many years. She was also head of the election committee for Marion Township for 11 years.

Carol is survived by her three children: Aaron (Kim) Maag of Bloomington, Arlin Maag of Cottage Grove, and Cayla (Ryan) Mayne of Prairie du Chien, 12 grandchildren; two siblings, Ilene “Sis” Hammond of Jacksonville, FL and Emil “Butch” (Nancy) Leother of Pardeeville, WI; and brothers and sisters in law: Lloyd (Linda) Maag, Eldeen Oechsle, Delbert (Kris) Maag, Eileen (Gordon) Durand, and Diane (Jim) Collins. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, Alvin Maag, mother and father in-law, Edwin and Lorraine Maag; sister, Judy Broedel; brother in-law, Eugene Oechsle; and brother in-law, Len Hammond.

A Funeral Service were held at 11 a.m. on Monday June 2, 2025, at Immanuel Marion U.C.C. in Marion Township, Grant County, with burial in the Bethel Cemetery in Hickory Grove Township.
