January 29, 1952–February 7, 2025
Trudie Lucille Adams, 73, Prairie du Chien, passed away Peacefully Friday, Feb. 7, at her home, where she had lived all her life, surrounded by family.
She was born Jan. 29, 1952, to Clarence A “Jim” and Dorothy (Evans) Teynor. Trudie graduated from Prairie du Chien High School with the class of 1970.
Trudie was united in marriage with Gary Adams on June 6, 1981, in Guttenberg, Iowa. Trudie worked at Advance Transformer, Walmart and most recently at Prairie Industries in Prairie du Chien.
Trudie often said that her most important job was raising her four children: Eric, Chellanie, Ryan and Seth. She adored them all. Trudie taught them how to ride horses as soon as they were big enough to hang on. She gave them her love of animals, plants and music and everyday celebrated their victories and picked them up from their defeats.
Trudie loved her sisters and brothers dearly. Her sister Linda shared her love of horses and they rode together their entire life.
Trudie’s nine grandchildren held a special spot in her heart, and she always had a lap for them to sit on, a pumpkin for them to carve, a Christmas tree for them to decorate, or a good warm meal for them to eat.
Trudie was quick witted and always left you with a smile on your face. She had many friends and loved playing cards.
Trudie is survived by her husband Gary of 43 years; children Eric (Colleen) Teynor, Chellanie (Pete) Grunwald, Ryan (Megan) Adams, Seth (Katie) Adams, nine grandchildren: Evan, Ben, Clare, Cash, Evelyn, Natalie, Maverick, Marshall and Lincoln; one sister Linda (Bob) Vance; one brother Bill (Ann) Teynor; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Jim and Dorothy Teynor, sisters Betty Lang and Jeanne Shinko and brothers Tony, Jim and Danny.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at St. Gabriel’s church of the Holy Family Parish at 11 a.m., with Fr. Brandon Guenther officiating and burial in the Calvary Cemetery in Prairie du Chien.
