Gerald T. Siegele

Gerald Timothy Siegele, 90, of Oelwein, passed away Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024, at Prairie Hills Assisted Living and Memory Care in Independence. He was born Nov. 12, 1934, to John and Ella (Weller) Siegele in McGregor. Gerald graduated from McGregor High School and joined the United States Army.

Gerald was united in marriage with Doris Ann Tomas on Sept. 9, 1961, at the Methodist Church in McGregor. Four daughters were born to this union, Lisa, Teresa, Krista and Linda. Gerald was a business owner of Modern Business Equipment in Oelwein. He enjoyed collecting, wood working and feeding the birds and squirrels. His great joy was spending time with his family.

Gerald is survived by his four daughters, Lisa (Quinn) Westpfahl of Jesup, Teresa (Kevin) Treloar of Hendersonville, Tenn., Krista (Andy) Urban of Sun Prairie, Wis., and Linda (Brian) Westpfahl of Jesup; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother Lowell Siegele of McGregor and sister-in-law Joyce Siegele of McGregor and sister-in-law Mary Tomas of Solon; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Preceding Gerald in death were his wife, Doris Siegele, on Aug. 31, 2024; parents, John and Ella Siegele; grandson, Erik Treloar; and his siblings, Marian Siegele and Eugene Siegele.

Memorials in Gerald’s honor may be given to Cedar Valley Hospice, Waterloo, or Prairie Hills of Independence Assisted Living Memory Care.

A private family service will be held.
