LuAnn Butikofer, 69, of McGregor, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Oct. 28, 2024 at her home.  

 

LuAnn was a gentle, kind, loving and caring mother, sister, aunt and friend who enjoyed making delicious pies for family gatherings and was always looking for a perfect gift for her loved ones.  

 

She leaves behind her daughter, Michelle Eaton of Cedar Rapids, and her son, Michael Eaton of Cedar Rapids, along with sisters Marilyn Wallar and Karolee (Todd) Magnuson, brother Dean Butikofer, nephews Jeff (Amy) Butikofer, Andy (Alesha) Butikofer and Eric (Sarah) Magnuson, niece Lindsey Magnuson and many cousins.  

 

LuAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Ragna (Embertson) Butikofer, grandparents, aunts and uncles.  

 

LuAnn was always upbeat and positive and loved a good laugh. If she could make someone smile, that made her day. Her empathy had no limits and extended it generously to friends and family and family pets.  

 

A celebration of life will be held on Aug. 9, 2025, in the Elgin area (place unknown).

Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of McGregor is assisting the family with arrangements.
