Judy’s early life in Guttenberg laid the foundation for the loving and faith-filled person she would become. Her vibrant personality shone through as she navigated her life’s journey, which led her to touch the lives of many with her kindness and friendship. She carried these qualities with her as she built a life filled with love, laughter, and the joy of family.
Professionally, Judy dedicated 38 years to her career as a cosmetologist. She was not only skilled with a pair of scissors and a makeup brush but also had the rare gift of making each of her clients feel truly seen and beautiful, both inside and out. Her work was more than a job; it was a means of connection, a way to spread joy, and a platform to foster community.
Beyond her professional life, Judy was a woman of many interests. She had a passion for quilting and sewing, creating beautiful pieces that were as much a testament to her artistic talent as they were expressions of her love for those she gifted them to. Her love for reading was only matched by her enjoyment of playing cards, an activity that allowed her to engage with friends and family in playful competition and camaraderie.
Judy’s legacy is carried on by her loving children, Lisa Callahan, Richard Balk, Patrick Balk and Michelle Attebury, as well as by her cherished eight grandchildren. She was a pillar of strength and a beacon of love for her family, teaching them the values of kindness, compassion, and faith. Judy also leaves behind her three siblings, Rodney, Dennis, and Ardelle, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond and countless treasured memories.
