PdC golfers compete at three locations across two days

Thanks to weather causing the postponement of last Thursday mini-SWC meet at Platteville, the Prairie du Chien golfers competed in a rare golf doubleheader on Friday.
The day began in Platteville at 11 a.m. where the fourth mini-SWC meet took place with the Hawks placing sixth as a team with a score of 242 due to not having a full lineup. Owen Achenbach lead the Hawks with a 47, Zach Mezera was one behind with a 48 and Tyler Steiber rounded out the scoring for the Hawks with a 57.
After the morning session was completed, the teams drove up to Richland Center that afternoon to compete in the final SWC mini-meet of the season. The Hawks, still with just three golfers, placed sixth with a team score of 216. Achenbach had a 41 to lead the Hawks, while Mezera added a 45 and Steiber a 49.
On Saturday Prairie du Chien traveled to Dodgeville for the annual SW Cup that takes between between the SWAL and SWC conferences. The SWAL defeated the SWC in this year’s competition by a score of 10 to 6.
The Prairie golfers will travel to The Oaks Golf Course in Cottage Grove today for the SWC Conference Meet and then will host a D2 Regional Meet next Tuesday, May 21 at the Prairie du Chien Country Club starting at 9 a.m.
