April 25, 1940–May 6, 2024

David N. Price, age 84, of Bloomington, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 6, 2024, at his residence. 

He was born April 25, 1940, the son of William and Hedwig “Hattie” (Jacoby) Price. 

Dave graduated from South Milwaukee High School in 1958, where he was Class President and played in the South Milwaukee Municipal Band, and later the City Municipal Band.  

On Nov. 4, 1961, Dave was united in marriage to Mary R. Robinette at the Zion Lutheran Church in South Milwaukee. Dave and Mary moved to Bloomington in 1968 and opened Price Equipment. They served the area farmers with many agricultural equipment needs, including Oliver, White, New Holland, Massey Ferguson and Great Plains. Dave also sold Simplicity and Gravely lawn equipment. 

He served on the Bloomington Village Board, and was a member of the Bloomington United Methodist Church, and its church counsel. Dave was also an AgCo dealer counselor. His 56-year career has instilled a work ethic that has been passed down to his children and grandchildren. Dave’s lifelong passion was his Mopar cars, trucks, Oliver tractors and yard. He dearly enjoyed spending time with his family.

Surviving is his loving wife of 63 years, Mary; three children: Bill (Cheryl), Tim (Kerri) and Holly (Scott) Gonwa; six grandchildren: Benjamin (Abby), Bradley (Shelby), Trevor (Julie), Tyler (Brooke) Price, Sabrina and Garrett Gonwa; six great grandchildren, and a brother-in-law: Dennis Robinette, and many nieces, nephews and his favorite four-legged companion: Farley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings: Harold (Helen), Gene (Doris), Tom (Vera) Price, Esther (Jim) Holtz and Lois (Wayne) Kaiser.

Funeral services was held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Bloomington, with Pastor Lance Wetter officiating. A private family burial will be in the Bloomington Cemetery.
