Seneca track team competes at Bulldog Relays, Wauzeka-Steuben at Cashton Invite

The Seneca and Wauzeka-Steuben track teams each managed to get a competition in last week despite a rough week weather wise.

On Thursday evening, the Seneca Royals traveled to Boscobel in the Bulldog Relays. The Seneca boys finished tenth with nine points, while the Royal girls placed eleventh with eight points.

The Royal boys were lead by a fifth place finish in the Distance Medley from the team of Thomas Caya, Tristen Starkey, Tucker Stluka and Gabriel Hamann in a time of 9:36.68.

On the girls side, Seneca got a sixth place finish in the 4x100 Meter Relay by the team of Maya Buffington, Rylie Cook, Skylette Gilbertson and Gracie Sime in a time of 58.93. The Royals also got a sixth place finish in the 3x100 Shuttle Hurdle Relay by the team of Cook, Sime and Livian Starkey in a time of 1:13.57.

Wauzeka-Steuben traveled to Cashton on Saturday morning for the Cashton Invitational and earned a sixth place finish with 50 points on the boys side and a seventh place on the girls side with 24 points.

Placing in the top three for the Hornet boys - 

800 Meter Run - Second - Brett Wagner (2:19.42).

110 Meter Hurdles - First - Lucius Cooley (17.55).

300 Meter Hurdles - First - Cooley (44.23).

High Jump - Second - Cooley (5-10.00).

Long Jump - Third - Cooley (20-01.50).

Earning top three finishes for the W-S girls -

400 Meter Dash - Third - Isabella Bunders (1:13.72).

4x400 Meter Relay - Third - Emma Udelhoven, Bunders, Brynlee Benoy and Natalie Wright (5:00.52).

Both schools traveled to Viola on Tuesday for the Lee Griffin Invitational at Kickapoo High School and will also both compete Friday at River Ridge High School for the Timberwolves Invitational.
