PdC Youth Wrestlers do well at State Meet

The Prairie du Chien Youth Wrestling club concluded their season with 22 wrestlers qualifying for the Wisconsin Wrestling Federation Kids Folkstyle State Championship at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison from March 22 to 24.

Prairie du Chien was led by three first place finishers. Brecken Reynolds (Boys 2015-16 60 pound weight class), Blake Konichek (Boys 2011-12 125 pound weight class) and Mahogany Mergen (Girls 2011-12 150++ weight class) each placed first in their respective weight brackets.

Earning a state runner-up for Prairie was Maisie Rabbitt (Girls 2015-16 50 pound weight class).

These seven wrestlers also placed at the state meet for PdC - 

Boys Born 2015-16 (85) - Fourth - Grayson Copsey.

Boys Born 2013-14 (60) - Third - Zach Heuston.

Boys Born 2009-10 (135) - Fifth - Jake Kramer.

Boys Born 2009-10 (210) - Fifth - Clark Fritsche.

Girls Born 2015-16 (55) - Fifth - Emelyn Lessard.

Girls Born 2015-16 (65) - Fourth - Layla Peak.

Girls Born 2009-10 (95) - Fifth - Rosalie Kossman.

Other Prairie Wrestlers who also wrestled at the state meet but did not place include - Jase Strandlie, Jaxsyn Bunts, Chance Primmer, Parker Bailey, Zachary Quick, Drake Chesebro, Maddison Bishop, Paytrin Primmer, Bay Kimbler, Chanel Kendhammer and Aspen Gelo.
