August 23, 1931–March 18, 2024

Marjorie Ann Patterson, age 92, passed away peacefully on Monday March 18, 2024, at her residence in Bloomington, which was home for over 70 years and with her family by her side. 

She was born on a farm on Aug. 23, 1931, the daughter of Leo and Philomene (Recker) Steinl. Marjorie was united in marriage to Robert L. Patterson on June 9, 1951, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington. Marjorie and Bob raised nine children, all who survive her.

In her younger adult years, Marge helped Bob run the Patterson Jewelry and Gift Store in Bloomington where she enjoyed the camaraderie of the many friends who would stop in. After retiring, Marge and Bob enjoyed traveling together and she continued to travel yearly after Bob’s passing. Marge enjoyed gardening, antiquing, quilting, and in her later years, enjoyed her weekly bridge games with all her bridge companions.

Marjorie is survived by her children; Gene (Deb) Patterson of Clemson, SC, Patrick (Marlene) Patterson of Mount Hope, Roberta “Bobbie” (Rick) Boerner of Scottsdale, Ariz.; Jan (John) Gaston of Alpharetta, Ga.; Nora (Pete) Rohe of Deer Brook, Tom (Tracy) Patterson of Fort Atkinson, Mark Patterson of Burnsville, N.C.; Dan (Kris) Patterson of Verona; Doug (Nicole) Patterson of New Berlin; and 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is further survived by  her brother Leo Steinl, Jr. and her sister Doris Regalia along with several nieces and nephews. 

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents Philomene and Leo, husband Bob Patterson, sister Barbara “Barbie” White, brother Norbert Steinl and her infant grandson Robert M. Patterson.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 23 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington, Wisc., with burial to follow in the church cemetery in Bloomington.
