March 7, 1929–March 15, 2024

Willard Junior Wentz, age 95, The Legendary WENTZ TV repair man of Prairie du Chien, passed away at home March 15, 2024, surrounded and cared for by his family and personal care worker Brooke Ziegler. 

He was born in Richland Center on March 7, 1929, to Willie Jasper Wentz and Mae Ann (Crowling) Wentz. 

Willard is survived by his children Renee (Oliver) Popova of Tucson, Ariz. Tina Mickleson of Avoca, Wisc.. Roberta (Jay) Ledman of Richland Center, Wisc. Carmen (Greg) Heaps of Pardeeville, Wisc., Jackie (Eric) Shipton of Las Vegas, Nev., Melanie Wentz of Onalaska, Wisc., Mindi (Cory) Gokey of Prairie du Chien, Ben (Shelly) Wentz of Holmen, Wisc., Toni (Brandon) Weigel of Onalaska, Wisc., and beloved nephew, Darlo (Barb) Wentz of Richland Center, Wisc. Willard was further survived by 27 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. 

Willard was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Genevieve Coleman, his brother Guy Wentz, his son Anthony (Tony) Paul Wentz, wife Judith (Whetzal) Wentz, brother Leo Wentz and nephew Milford Wentz, his special niece, Darlene Felton, and beloved brother-in-law Allen Leonard Gillingham.  

Funeral Services will be Thursday, March 21 at 6 p.m. at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel in Prairie du Chien with private inurnment at a later date in the Loyd Cemetery in Richland County, Wisc. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 3 p.m. until the time of service. 

Military Honors will be accorded by the Prairie du Chien Honor Guard immediately following the service. www.garrityfuneralhome.com.
