The Daily Grind opens

If you are looking for a place to sit and enjoy a warm beverage and a sweet treat with friends, or a quick grab-and-go coffee and pastry on your way to work, the new coffee shop, The Daily Grind, is open and ready to fill your cup.
The Daily Grind is located in the newly-constructed Allen Real Estate building on Hwy. 52 adjacent to Bender's grocery store, and is open Monday - Saturday from 6 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Great location
The Daily Grind owners, Colten and Taylor Raststetter of Guttenberg, felt the location was great for people passing through town on their daily commute or arriving for a day trip or weekend stay. "We wanted easy access for our customers," the couple told The Press.
Taylor has worked as a barista and loved the atmosphere and the connection she got from meeting people everyday and seeing her regulars.
The Daily Grind is the perfect place to embrace the on-trend slow living movement. "I knew living Guttenberg, I wanted to bring something to the community it was lacking. Everyone loves coffee and I feel coffee is a great way to connect with people and slow down to take time for yourself," Taylor pointed out.
Menu items
In addition to regular and specialty coffee, The Daily Grind also offers hot teas, chai, frozen shakes and hot chocolate. Current food choices include mouth-watering pastries, and decadent sweets. Organic granola and sugar-free coffee options are also available for health conscious individual or customers on a special diet. "We are hoping to add protein coffee and protein shakes for the New Year," she added.
Community impact
Taylor is excited to be a part of Guttenberg's growing business community and women entrepreneurs. "My goal initially moving to Guttenberg was, what impact could I have on the community and how can I strive as a business owner to help make it better. I believe every business can grow from each other and our main goal should be to give back to the community," she encouraged.
Coming soon
The ambitious couple has several ideas for additional offerings at The Daily Grind moving forward, and is currently working on their convenient online ordering system. "Soon you can place your order or orders for you and your co-workers and come in to pick them up or have them brought right out to your car!" she exclaimed.

We are working through the tweaks and hurdles of being a new business and we are so thankful for everyone’s patience while we grow and learn," the couple concluded with gratitude.
