Chad Dahling, 54, died Jan. 13, 2024. He was born July 18, 1969, to Daryl and Fonda (Fischer) Dahling.

 

Chad graduated from Central School, enjoying the sports there. Chad held down several jobs before becoming a farmer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding horses and telling jokes. He had a kinship with the underdog.

 

Chad is survived by his mother, Fonda (Fischer) Dahling; brother, Michael and wife Kim; sister, Pam Dettbarn and her husband Dana; his nieces, Lynn Fettkether and Robyn Fry; and nephew, Alex Dahling.

 

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Bill and Doris Dahling and Lyle and Fern Fischer, and brother, Allan.

 

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Private family services will be held.

 

Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Elkader is assisting the family.
