The Wauzeka-Steuben Hornet boys and girls basketball teams traveled to Boscobel on Thursday, Dec. 28 for a holiday break non-conference doubleheader.

First up were the girls and the Hornets came away with a 69-32 victory  to improve their overall record to 8-1 on the season, while the Bulldogs fell to 4-6. Wauzeka-Steuben is back in action on Tuesday, Jan. 9 at River Ridge.

The boys game ended the evening’s festivities. A slow, but back-and-forth first half ended with the visiting Hornet boys leading 19-14.

It was a different story in the second half though as the Bulldogs outscored the Hornets 38-24 to earn a 52-43 victory. Boscobel improved to 4-7 with the win while the Hornets dropped to 3-5 on the season.

The Hornet boys welcomed Cassville to town Tuesday night and will travel to Waunakee High School on Saturday, Jan. 6 to face Delavan-Darien in the Swingfam Showcase event with game time scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
