With a 60-37 non-conference win over the host Hornets last Thursday, coach Jim Wagner and his River Ridge Timberwolves went to 5-3 on the season heading into the holiday break.

The Timberwolves knocked down 24-of-56 total shot attempts, including 8-of-23 from 3-point range. They were 4-of-10 from the free throw line, committed just 11 turnovers and came away with a whopping 18 steals.

Junior sharpshooter Carter Copsey led the Timberwolves with 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting, including 2-of-3 from three. He also shared the lead with Brandon Davis, who each had four steals.

Brady Bunge chipped in 11 points, and was 3-of-8 from downtown, while Davis finished with 10 points to go along with a team-high five assists, followed by Matthew Nies with nine points, six boards and five assists.

On Wednesday, Dec. 27, the Timberwolves will host their annual holiday tournament with Barneveld, Blair-Taylor and Iowa-Grant all taking part in the event.
