The Seneca Royals continued their early season road trip with contests at Cashton and Kickapoo. On Tuesday, Dec. 5, the Royals traveled to Cashton to take on the Eagles. The hosts jumped out to a 44-17 halftime lead before holding off the Royals in the second half for a 77-51. Leading the scoring for the Royals was Dawson Davidson, who tallied a game high 28 points in large part to six made three-point shots during the game. Also getting into the scoring column for the Royals were Briar Wall (6 points), Owen Oppriecht (5 points), Jackson Konichek and Gage Wall (4 points each), and Hunter Hagensick and Carson Sime (2 points each).
The Royals ended the week by traveling to Viola on Thursday, Dec. 7 to face the Kickapoo Panthers to begin Ridge and Valley Conference play. Seneca entered halftime with a 29-22 lead before extending it in the second half in earning a 56-42 win for their first victory of the 2023-24 season.
Davidson once again led the Royals in scoring as he tallied 14 points during the game. Oppriecht and Reggie George each added 11 points while Garret Baker, Hagensick, Konichek, and Briar Wall all added 5 points each.
With the win over Kickapoo, Seneca improves to 1-3 overall, and 1-0 overall on the season.
Following Tuesday night’s home game against Brookwood, the Royals host Wauzeka-Steuben in a conference showdown on Thursday, Dec. 14.
