Coming off their first three-game losing streak since February 2020, the Prairie du Chien girls basketball team responded with a pair of victories last week.

Traveling to South Wayne to face the Black Hawk Warriors, the Prairie du Chien Blackhawks came away with a 60-32 win to even their record up at 3-3. Black Hawk fell to 2-5.

Prairie returned home on Thursday, Dec. 7 to host conference rival Richland Center and it was the Hawks from the opening tip onward as PdC jumped out to 17-1 lead early on before taking a 39-4 lead into halftime. The Hawks made things tough for the visitors in the second as the Hawks used a 32-7 second half to claim a 71-11 victory. PdC improved to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the SWC with the win, while Richland Center fell to 0-7 overall, and 0-2 in the SWC.

After a busy first few weeks to start the season, the Hawks have a quiet stretch in store after Tuesday’s home game against River Valley, they do not play again until Friday, Dec. 22 when they welcome Westby to town for their last game before the Christmas holiday.
