Kimberly L. Ihde, 55, of Dubuque, formerly of St. Olaf, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023, at Mercy Medical Center following a short illness.

 

Kimmie was born on June 17, 1968, to Harold and Amanda Ihde. She attended Garnavillo High School and lived her life with family surrounded by love and all her favorite things. She especially enjoyed going out to eat, playing UNO or Yahtzee, watching Disney movies (Monsters Inc. and Zootopia were her favorites), spending time with loved ones and dancing.

 

Anyone who met Kim knew how special she truly was. To know her was to love her.

 

A special thanks to Cozy Corner Adult Day Care staff for welcoming Kim with open arms and giving her some of the best times over the past few years.

 

Kim was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Amanda (Glawe) Ihde; her brother, Larry Ihde; and her sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Elmer Schuety.

 

Survivors include her brothers, Kevin (Lisa) Ihde, rural Farmersburg, and Brian (Wendy) Ihde of Hamilton, Mt.; her sister, Pamela (Bert) Glaser of Dubuque; and her many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.

 

Heaven gained a sweet angel. Kim will be greatly missed.

 

Private family visitation and services will be held.

 

Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Elkader is assisting the family.
