Royal boys start season with victory at Riverdale

The Seneca boys basketball team kicked off their 2023-24 season by traveling to Muscoda on Monday night to take on the Riverdale Chieftains in a non-conference contest.
The first half saw the host Chieftains take a 31-25 lead into halftime before the Royals came out in the second half and out scored the hosts 34-25 to earn a 59-56 victory in their season opener.
Leading the scoring for the Royals was Briar Wall with a game high 15 points (12 of which came from outside the three point line). Also reaching double figures in scoring for the Royals were Dawson Davidson and Gage Wall (11 points each). Owen Oppriecht (8 points), Garret Baker (6 points), Reggie George (4 points), and Hunter Hagensick and Jackson Konichek (2 points each) all also got into the scoring log.
The Royals moved to 1-0 with the victory and will travel to Royall High School in Elroy on Thursday night and then to Cashton on Tuesday, Dec. 5.
