Prairie du Chien girls basketball moves to 2-0 on season with 71-52 non-conference victory over the Logan Rangers

The Prairie du Chien Blackhawks Girls Basketball team returned home for Parents Night on Tuesday, Nov. 21 to host La Crosse Logan in the Hawks home opener.
The first half was a back-and-forth battle with the Hawks taking a 28-27 lead into halftime. Prairie du Chien used a strong scoring attack in the second half to pull away from the visiting Rangers on their way to moving to 2-0 on the season with a 71-52 victory.
The Hawks not only out shot the Rangers from the field (52 percent to 44 percent), but also collected more rebounds (28 to 26), assists (18 to 13), steals (14 to 9), and blocks (3 to 0).
Leading the Hawks scoring wise was Tannah Radloff with 18 points, while also collecting 6 steals, 5 assists, and 2 rebounds.
Rounding out the Hawks attack were Greenlee Krahn (17 points, 4 assists, 3 steals), Tessa Czajkowski Higgins (15 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals), and Karly Kramer (14 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal). While Rita Achenbach (4 points and 6 rebounds) and Claire Kennedy (3 points and 7 rebounds) combined for just 7 points, they also grabbed a combined total of 13 rebounds during the game.
The visiting Rangers were lead by Aaliyah Hamilton, who scored a game high 24 points. Hamilton is the daughter of Prairie du Chien alumna Linda (Lorenz) Hamilton and former La Crosse Catbirds star Vince Hamilton, and is the sister of current Western Illinois University men’s basketball player Jacksun Hamilton.
After Tuesday’s game against Holmen, Prairie du Chien finishes up their home stand on Friday, Dec. 1 with conference rival Platteville before stepping back out of conference for a road contest at Oregon on Saturday, Dec. 2.
