Amanda S. Newbern
Amanda Sue Newbern, born March 20, 1989, was welcomed to heaven on Friday, Nov. 10, by her mom, dad, grandparents and other relatives. She had lived in Wabasha for the past 17 years, and before that in Onalaska, Wis., and her forever hometown of Cedar Falls. Amanda is the beloved sister of James (Slinger, Wis.) and the niece of Steve and Lynn Johnson (Wabasha).
Some may have looked at Amanda with pity for all that she lost 24 years ago, but those who had the privilege to know her were blessed with an exceptional gift. Amanda loved her family and friends with all she had. Her smile lit up any room and could draw anyone in.
Amanda loved what she loved: music, movies, books, boat rides, dogs, babies, sports, vacations and time with family and friends.
She will be missed by her brother James, her Uncle Steve and Aunt Lynn; cousins who were like siblings, Jennifer (Matthew) Grant and Juston Johnson (Casey Higgins); cousins who were like nieces and nephews, Mara (Dylan) Ulesich, Maya, Jacob and Spencer Grant and Saoirse Johnson; Aunt Paula and Uncle Lee Embretson, Uncle Mark Johnson (Becky Tesar), Uncle Dennis Freitag and Uncle Terry (Jill) Boelter; cousins, Joshua, Stacey, Eva, Layla and Zane Embretson, Timothy and Dominic Embretson, Stephanie, Scott, Broderick and Darian Denner, Danielle and Hugo Herrera, Dayton and Gwenivere Vajgrt, Richard, Brialyn and Aubrey Skipper, Chad Johnson (Bradley Titus), Ann, TJ, Ethan, Aurick and Owen Casper, Nicholas, Neena, Ashton and Ayden Boelter and Alison, Daniel, Audrey and Elliot Johnson; as well as many other extended family members and friends Amanda considered family.
Amanda was preceded in death by her parents, Kevin and Patricia Newbern, grandparents Dean and Doretta Newbern and Paul and Betty Johnson, aunts Pamela Freitag, Kenlyn Boelter and Regina Johnson and cousin Elisha Embretson.
