Generations Salon expands services

Generations Salon, 14 Schiller Street in Guttenberg, has added a stylist, esthetician, manicurist and numerous services to the salon menu.

Generations Salon owner Lacey Ludovissy, earned her cosmetology degree at Capri College, Dubuque.
She and her husband, Joey, and their two children, Jase and Jade, reside in North Buena Vista. Lacey has been cutting and styling hair for the past 17 years. Her first salon was located in a rented space in the south end of Guttenberg for 15 years.
Lacey's services include children, teen and adult haircuts, hair color services, waxing and special occasion styles.
Lacey's maternal grandmother inspired her decision to pursue a career in the cosmetology field, and open her own business. A nostalgic reminder – a dryer chair – from her grandmother's shop is proudly displayed at Ludovissy's salon. "My grandmother was a cosmetologist," she noted. "Growing up, I always loved watching her style, cut and color hair."
Taylor Rastetter
Taylor Rastetter grew up in South Carolina and moved to Guttenberg with her husband, Colten.
"I love the small town feel. It reminds me of my hometown. I’m so excited and thankful for the opportunity to serve Guttenberg," she shared.
Taylor is currently offering body waxing, makeup, spray tanning, brows, facials, and coming soon – pedicures, manicures, and eyelash extensions.
Taylor graduated from Capri College in Cedar Rapids. "I have always had a passion for skin care and beauty. I worked as a makeup artist for nearly eight years before moving to Iowa, and knew I wanted to become a licensed esthetician and really dive into the field. I love helping women find the confidence they have within them already," she commented.
Taylor is excited to be part of the Generations Salon team. "Lacey is such an amazing person, and I couldn’t have handpicked a better group of ladies to work with," she said with a smile. "I'm excited to offer esthetics services, lashes, nails, spray tanning etc. If you can imagine it, besides getting your hair done – I can do it!"
Jess Pealer
Master stylist Jess Pealer of Guttenberg graduated from Capri Cosmetology College in Cedar Rapids, and has 23 years experience in the cosmetology field.
She was inspired to get into the beauty industry after going to college for business and management information services (MIS), and working for a company 9-5 daily with little flexibility.
"I wanted a career that was tailored to having a new baby and thinking ahead as she grew, not to mention a career that brought out my natural artistic abilities," Jess told The Press. "Being in the hair industry allowed me to make my own schedule, and go to work everyday without it feeling like a job."
Jess is honored to be able to let her creative talent flow and lift people’s moods professionally. "I had an opportunity to be part of the creative hair team on the movie Final Season," she noted. "I believe taking this career to the next level in professionalism, and staying on top of the latest techniques, tools, and trends, through the best education defines a master stylist."
Jess has completed intense elite hair courses in New York City (NYC), attending two classes a year from 2007-2017, California, Miami, Chicago, Minneapolis, and worked as a stylist at Lunatic Fringe, an elite salon in Holladay, Utah, before transitioning into renting a studio of her own.
"I am known for my specialty colors, which include balayages, foilyage, highlights, hair melts, corrective colors, colors, and haircuts," she listed.
Jess is excited to be part of the Generations Salon team. "I am extremely grateful to have met Lacey and Taylor, and for the opportunity to work with two such beautiful women," she said with gratitude.
In addition to their ministry work, Jess, and her husband, Matt, love to adventure, explore, and pursue outdoor recreational hobbies. She also loves spending time with her 23-year-old daughter, Elle, who is finishing up hair school at Capri. The couple's ministry, The Radical Road can be found online at ontheradicalroad.com.
