PdC softball ends season in sectional semifinal game

The Lady Hawks softball season came to an end on Tuesday, May 30 with a 3-0 loss at River Valley in a D3 sectional semifinal. 

The game was a pitching duel as River Valley scored 1 run in the bottom of the first inning on an error to make the score 1-0 in favor of River Valley. The score would remain the same until the bottom of the sixth inning when Valley scored 2 more unearned runs to make the score 3-0, which would be the final score as well.

PdC scored 0 runs on 4 hits and committed 4 errors during the game while River Valley scored 3 runs (0 earned) on 5 hits, and had 1 error.

Scout Hall took the loss on the mound as she threw the entire game, allowing just 5 hits and 0 walks while collecting two strikeouts.

PdC’s hits were by Reagan Hannah, who was 2-3, Kailee Quick 1-3, and Madison Baumgartner 1-2.

Prairie du Chien softball won back-to-back regional championships for the first time ever in program history on their way to finishing the season with a record of 11-9.
