Trisha L. Jones, 57, of Harpers Ferry, IA, died Tuesday, May 9, 2023, from injuries sustained in a workplace accident at 3M in Prairie du Chien, WI.
Trisha Louise Jones was born September 12, 1965, in Waukon, IA, the daughter of Thomas Sr. and Velma (Merchant) Weipert. She was baptized in the Catholic church and attended Waukon High School. When Trisha first met her husband, Howard, it was love at first sight. Together they had two sons, Ben and Levi, and finally married on May 27, 1989, at Sweet Ridge Lutheran Church in McGregor, IA, but were together 42 years in total.
Trisha was known to be a workaholic and often held multiple jobs at once. This included waitressing and cooking at places like the Marquette Café and Bar, Old Rossville Store, and she also ran Pines Café in Harpers Ferry. Trisha previously worked at Lansing Northern Engraving and occasionally helped her husband with his tree service business, Jones Tree Service. For the past 23 years, Trisha worked at the 3M plant in Prairie du Chien, WI.
When she wasn’t working, Trisha lived for her grandchildren and loved taking them for 4-wheeler rides. She always tried to make sure everyone felt included and tried to help others whenever she had a chance. Trisha was the first person to step in to help and donate to benefits for those in need. A great cook and baker, she would frequently bring treats to work for coworkers and always made sure everyone had plenty of goods for the holidays. Nobody went hungry around Trish. Trisha enjoyed spending time gardening and mushroom hunting (as long as no snakes were present). Trisha was also known for her great outdoor holiday decorations and made sure to decorate her bigfoot statues accordingly.
Trisha is survived by her husband Howard of Harpers Ferry; her two sons: Ben (Kiana) Jones and Levi (Brooke) Jones, both of Harpers Ferry; four grandchildren: Trevor, Parker, River, and Reid Jones; three sisters: Cindy Vanderbilt of Prairie du Chien, Wisc., Tina Killen of Waukon Junction, IA, and Tammy Hammer of Avondale, CO; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters-in-law; and her rat terrier Sadie.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Thomas Sr. and Velma (Merchant) Weipert; brother Thomas Weipert Jr.; father and mother-in-law Herman and Arlene Jones; and sisters-in-law: Heidi Trotter, Hilda King, Harlene Young, and Holly Wagner.
Friends may greet the family from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Monday, May 15th, at Martin-Grau Funeral Home in Waukon. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, May 16th, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Rusty Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery.
Honorary urnbearers are Bobby Joe Boots, Randy Cook, Charlie Hansen, Joe Jones, Jeremy Vanderbilt, and her grandsons: Trevor, Parker, River, and Reid Jones.
