Zoey Aspenson and Camryn Lensendorf practice their pie making skills for the Seneca First Responders benefit on February 25.

Veteran baker, Zoey Aspenson, is joined this year by a friend from school, Camryn Lenzendorf, as she gets ready to once again supply her pies for the Pie Auction at the upcoming Seneca First Responders benefit event.
Zoey and Camryn are Freshmen at Seneca High School. Last year Zoey baked a number of pies for this auction and raised top dollars for her outstanding baking skills. The girls got together recently to practice some pie making.
Zoey was proud to be able to contribute to the first responders. Her dad is the Chief of the Seneca Fire Department, and Camryn’s dad serves as both a firefighter and an emergency medical responder. The girls said it makes them feel good to help the community like their families do in so may ways.
The Seneca First Responders received a grant from the State of Wisconsin to purchase a new vehicle. The cost of installing lights, sirens and decals falls on the unit, which will be the primary reason for raising funds at this event.
The event is fast approaching this month. Saturday, February 25, at the Seneca Town Hall the community will gather for a euchre tournament and a bean bag tournament. Doors open at noon with games beginning at 1pm. A hot meal will be available for free-will donation throughout the day, as well as beverages for kids and adults.
After the tournaments wrap up around 4pm raffle tickets will be drawn for the many available raffle baskets. And then the highlight of the day, the Pie Auction! Bakers from across the community bring their best baked goods which are sold to the highest bidder in a lively auction, led by Clayton Maab. Rivertown Ironworks also donates sports themed décor that will be up for bid.
Raffle basket tickets are being pre-sold – you do not need to be present to win! If you are interested in purchasing basket raffle tickets or registering for the euchre or bean bag tournaments contact the Crisse Reynolds, Secretary/Treasurer, Seneca Volunteer First Responders at 608.734.3126.
