Orville “Orv” Aspenson, 82, of Holmen, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. He was born on February 17, 1940, in the township of Utica to Norman and Lydia (Uglum) Aspenson. He graduated from Seneca High School in 1958 and following graduation, he attended the Farmers Short Course in Madison. Orv married Bernadetta Brown on June 4, 1960, at the Boscobel Methodist Church. Orv enjoyed farming on his family’s farm and worked as a carpenter with Carpenters Local 1143 – La Crosse, Wisc.. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed various jobs. He had a passion for golf (he was very proud of the two holes in one he had), enjoyed hunting, and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. After his retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years; two sons, Jesse (Gayle) Aspenson, and Rollie (Donna) Aspenson; grandchildren, Kelsey (Brad) Kleven, Kevin (Kali) Aspenson, Kristine (Devin) Pettis, and Jennifer (Tyler) Ike; great-grandchildren, Dylen, Cooper, Blake, and Graham; his siblings, Konnie (Alvin) Kvigne and Raymond (Ann) Aspenson; sisters-in-law, June (Jack) Jenkins and Shari Brown; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Orv was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister, Ethel Mae Aspenson; his brother, Virgil Aspenson; sister-in-law, Esther Aspenson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Bernadette (Flynn) Brown; brothers-in-law, Albert Brown and Larry Brown; sisters-in-law, Shirley Brown and Harriett Arnold.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lakeview Health Center or the Utica Lutheran Church Cemetery Association.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at the Utica Lutheran Church. Pastor Nile Sandeen will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Orv will be laid to rest at the church cemetery. Online Condolences may be expressed at www.vossfh.com.
