Lynn Allen Hansel, 61, died Friday, Jan. 20, 2023, at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Lynn Allen Hansel was born Sept. 21, 1961, in Manchester, the son of Eugene and Merle (Kellogg) Hansel. He grew up in Garber and moved to the Martelle area in the late 1970s. He was united in marriage to Linda Marie Angell on Nov. 5, 1988, in Anamosa. She died in 2015. He was employed as an auto mechanic and worked at Theisen’s, Stickel Farms, Goodyear, and Wilken Automotive Services, all in Anamosa.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding four wheelers, cutting wood, and, being a real gear head - anything that had to do with fast cars. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his sons, Timothy (Jackie), Mechanicsville, Josh (Torrie), Lisbon, Jake, Martelle, and a step-son, Will, Burlington; several grandchildren; his siblings, Barb Moser, Bobby, and Glen, and a brother-in-law, Nick Lewin, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Roger, Laverle, and Jeanette.

In lieu of flowers and gifts memorials may be directed to his GoFundMe page or to Exchange State Bank in Martelle.
