James Antony Balk, 73, of Oelwein, formerly of Elma, passed away on Monday, Jan. 16, 2023.

A celebration of life will be at a later date. 

James served three tours in Vietnam with the Marines. James loved woodworking, football, Kit Kats and Ruffles potato chips. James worked at Featherlite and Wilson's Tree Service in Cresco.

James is survived by his siblings, William Balk of Cedar Rapids, Helen (Wayne) Barrett of Oelwein, Karolyn Balk of Oelwein, Roger (Shirley) Balk of Garnavillo, Sandy Balk Anderson of Burnet, Texas, Thomas (Kerrie) Balk of Parker, Colo., Donald (Mindy) Balk of West Union and many nieces and nephews.

Proceeding in death were his parents, Andrew and Anna Balk; brother, Andrew Balk; brother, Jeff Balk and sister, Roseann Kraus.
