It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved mother Joanne Dull, a lifelong resident of McGregor, who passed away on Dec. 31, 2022, at the age of 87 after a brief illness, leaving to mourn family and friends. 

Joanne had been employed as a telephone operator in Prairie du Chien, a secretary at Agri Industries, a food demonstrator at Dick’s Supermarket and volunteered at the Marquette Depot Museum and Information Center. She and dear friend Arlys Denning were notorious for their road-trip adventures around the area and regular Friday brunches at Maggie’s Diner. Joanne always had a smile to brighten your day and was always a pleasure to be around. 

She is survived by her children, Joni Kramer (Jerry) of Milwaukee, Jay Dull (Lori) of Cockeysville, Md., and Jeff Dull (Melody) of Harpers Ferry, Iowa; her grandchildren, Allison Wallace (Davinci), Justin Kramer (Kristen), Bryant Dull and Calvin Dull; her great grandchildren, Gabbie Wallace, Lily Wallace, Gia Kramer and Jaden Kramer; and her siblings, Gerald Henkes (Linda) of McGregor, Bobby Henkes (Sue) of McGregor, Donna Oetzel (Skip), Bonnie Ferguson (Gary), Sandra Handgartner, Carroll Henkes, Jr. (Jane), Cheryl Tippery (Rod), Lowell Henkes (Kathleen) and Todd Henkes (Tammy).

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ross Dean Dull; her parents, Carroll, Sr. and Irene Henkes, Sr. (Hultgren); her sister, Pauline; and her brother, Loren. 

The family will notify loved ones when a celebration of life is scheduled.

Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of McGregor, Iowa, is assisting the family with arrangements.
