Patricia A. Roach, 90, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022, surrounded by love. Patricia was born Oct. 13, 1932, to Thomas and Nelly (Kelly) Bergan in Arlington.

She graduated from St. Joseph’s Catholic School in 1950. After graduation, she went to college for one year and then worked as an operator at the Northwestern Bell telephone company in Elkader.

She married Michael J. Roach in 1956, and they were married 59 years until Mike’s passing in 2015. To this union four children were born: Michael, Janet, Anita and Teresa.

After years of traveling with the Air Force, they retired back in Elkader where Pat enjoyed reconnecting with other people in her home town, spending time with her brothers and sisters-in-laws and playing cards with family and friends. She was an avid reader and loved to put her knowledge from reading to test playing along with her Jeopardy game shows. Pat loved to travel and on one of her last trips with her grandson Jason was able to see Niagara Falls. She loved seeing her grandchildren whenever possible and was looking forward to her first great-grandchild due in January.  Pat enjoyed cooking and liked to catch up with what was going on from Facebook.

She is survived by her children, Janet (Doug) Whittle, Anita (Kevin) Potter and Teresa (John) Schneider; six grandchildren, Jason, Andrew and Jacob Whittle, Daniel (Kristen) Potter, Nick (Dayna) Schneider and Matthew (Allison) Schneider; one great-grandchild on the way; two brothers, Mike (Ruth) Bergan and Bernard Bergan; and one sister, Catherine Thornton; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband Mike; son Michael; her parents; her brother and sister-in-law Joe and Marilyn Bergan; brother-in-law Daryl Thornton; sister-in-law Maureen Bergan; and two nephews, Steven and Brad Bergan.
